It is the emphases of God's triune love and winsomeness that I think can complement what we are doing with EC. Yes, at the end of the day, the dualism of elect V. reprobate is not ultimately overcome by Affective Theology; for Affective Theology drinks deeply from Augustine's well and understanding on election etc. Yes, ultimately I think there can end up being a 'God behind the back of Jesus' in this conception too. But I think there is room to constructively retrieve the fruitful impulses of this framework (just as there is with John Calvin's union with Christ double grace theology), and integrate those within a more 'Christ-conditioned' understanding. Good eye ;-)!Bobby Growhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06831009618873548948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2934219918554432299.post-91747999609409660532012-05-24T00:25:15.795-07:002012-05-24T00:25:15.795-07:00I'm sure there's much more to this than yo...I'm sure there's much more to this than you could offer in one article but based on the information here it seems Affective Theology would also have “God behind the back of Christ”, creating a new creature apart from Christ and imbuing it with the love of Christ so that it will be saveable or enabled to be saved. Is there also the notion of a “condemned elect” within this theology? Have I missed something?kchttp://justsoyouallknow.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
